Fast service and the staff is nice but it's nowhere where it used to be. It used to be one the best gyros in nyc, now it was pretty midiocre. The guy didn't shave off the fresh meat and some pieces were clearly overdried. The meat wasn't juicy either and pretty dry. The price also went up to $14-15. My wife got another gyro from a new place Zara 50 feet away and it was surprisingly better, with a combo price of the same $15.
This place was a great disvovery for me. The kebab was well seasoned and juicy. The salad was fresh . And my nig love to the home made bread with seasame. It has been a while i haven't tried a bread like that one. Turkish cuisine never disappoints . Great job guys !!
After some intense online research to find a Mediterranean restaurant near Times Square that catered to locals rather than tourists, we hit upon Turco Mediterranean Grill, which was a quick walk from our hotel and within walking distance of the theatre we were headed to later that evening. It turned out to be a great pick—a hole-in-the-wall that served up some of the best authentic Turkish food we’ve had. I started with the lentil soup, which had a subtle but tasty flavor and velvety consistency. Following that, we had two appetizers: the dolma had a mint-dominant flavor that complimented the consistency of these rice-stuffed grape leaves, which was more tender than dolma I’ve had before; and the quinoa salad, featuring a fluffy quinoa with various chunks of vegetable mixed in—very refreshing. For a main course I had the falafel plate—a bounteous dish of five savory falafel balls with zesty dollops of tahini sauce on top and bordering a bed of colorful greens bursting with a flavorful vinegar dressing, fresh slices of tomato, some deliciously flavored whole grain rice and equally flavorful hummus, and a delectably spicy ezme sauce on the side. I’m kicking myself for not having ordered dessert—we will have to return for another meal. Turco’s was a great find—generous portions of quality food at a very reasonable price, and a convenient location within walking distance of most Broadway theaters.
Fast takeout, or sit down and enjoy the food with good service! This is the best authentic Turkish grill food I've had since when I lived in Hamburg. Turco does not mess around. Everything on the menu is excellent, and it will be prepared according to your request - highly recommended! JH 5+ stars in Midtown Manhattan
I had a meal at the restaurant with my friend. It’s a small and clean place. You have the chance to see how all the dishes are prepared. I can say it's very clean. We specifically came for the chicken gyro. It was no different from the ones we had in Turkey. The portions were quite good. The prices were very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Authentic fast casual dine in and take out Turkish restaurant. Loved their homemade bread which had very nice sesame flavors and went very well with the appetizers. We got the mixed platter mezzes, everything was great. Highly recommend the soslu patlican (eggplant with tomato sauce) and the lentil kofte. It's the second time I managed to find vegan kofte in NYC while it's something common in Turkey. Definitely look forward to coming back!
This Is what I’m talking about! I enjoyed this so much made it back multiple times the Gyro sandwiches were large delicious. The appetizers were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend going here.
